Tamara Cedré, a long-time lecturer of art and design at CSUSB, is the originating artist for A Space Between Us, and the zine the project generated. Cedré will discuss her artistic practice and how, through recent collaborative projects, she has discovered self-publishing as a place for advocacy and resistance. The Space, Cedre’s zine, will be discussed, as well as historical precedents like La Raza newspaper and magazine published between 1967 and 1977.
