Instead of focusing on how busy and crowded seaside communities can be, Hannah Okamoto shifts the attention to the quieter hours at the beaches she documented throughout the South Bay in Southern California in the project “Uncommon Hour.” These landscapes, documented from dawn to noon, depict the quietness that life at the beach can offer, outside of the business of what many think of when calling to mind California beaches.
