Hannah Boone
Through documentary photography, Hannah Boone explores the relationship between children who have experienced Foster Care and having been adopted or aged out. The adversities that they face are great, and yet Boone wants to share the stories of those who have overcome them. They may all be in different places in their walk of life, but they all are striving to grow and have an amazing, impactful future. Through sharing their stories, every subject is celebrated, but they are also a light to those who are struggling in the system. To encourage them and bring hope in a dark place. As a writer, Boone not only wants to use photos to tell their stories, but words. Specifically, words coming from her subjects. She pairs quotes from each interview to add more depth and poetics to the project. It is a very relational project, and while Photography is the primary medium being used, the subjects are the true storytellers.
